This motel is perfect for a 2–3 night stay on the Cape. I’m giving it 5 stars for what it is — a clean, convenient, and affordable place to sleep while enjoying the area. If you’re expecting luxury or high-end amenities, this isn’t that kind of place, but if you want friendly staff, comfortable beds, and a hassle-free stay, it’s exactly what you need. We’ve stayed here several times over the past five years during quick weekend trips (we usually rent a house for longer stays), and we’ve never had any issues. I’m leaving this review now because during our most recent visit, the staff kindly let us cut our stay short due to incoming storms and didn’t charge us for the unused nights, a gesture we really appreciated.
Positive: The cleanliness was amazing and the staff were polite, knowledgeable about things to do and the breakfast was very good for a continental style. Would highly recommend staying here. Negative: The only thing and it was a small thing, the rooms were upgraded and newly done but the ceiling should have been painted white, Again a small thing and didn’t effect the stay at all
Two friends and I went to the Olde Tavern Motel in Orleans, Massachusetts on Cape Cod for 2 nights. The rooms were very clean. The breakfast choices were good, including an automatic pancake maker, really cool. The manager, Peter, was very pleasant and helpful. The only complaints were that the beds were so high, one practically needed a step-stool to get in and out of them. Also the windows were painted shut, so I could not open them. I prefer fresh air to air conditioning, so this was something I did not like. Overall, though, it's a lovely motel with a pool in a convenient part of the Cape to get to other destinations.
My husband, 8 year old daughter, 4 month old son and I stayed here for 3 nights in June 2025. The room was spacious for all of our baby gear and very clean. No bugs! We had to wash bottles in the bathroom sink for my son and that worked fine. I never heard any noise coming from other rooms. Beds were comfortable and we all slept well. The expanded continental breakfast was perfect for us every morning. Such a nice perk to the motel! My only complaint is that there was very little water pressure in the shower. Plenty of very hot water, but minimal pressure. There were a lot of touches that made me feel the owners thought out a comfortable stay for their clients. Loved the back deck, and we checked out the pool but never got the chance to go in. It looked very clean and water temps were warm
We were going to a Wedding in Cape Cod and had to find a place that was both clean and affordable. Luckily I chose The Olde Tavern Motel! It was very clean and very comfortable! The staff was great and the manager, Peter was very accommodating and pleasant! They have a pool but the weather did not cooperate. Breakfast was available and offered a great selection of quick grab or sit down items. I highly recommend this place!
