Oaks on the River Boutique Hotel

Had dinner on March 6th, 2026. First did Happy Hour, where they serve the best Old Fashioned on the coast. Then to the dining room for dinner which was excellent. Served piping hot (good service!), cooked and seasoned perfectly. Good wine list, too. I've eaten here before and always been happy - finally reviewing it. We had: smoked fish dip, halibut over risotto, shrimp and grits. The menu is varied with lots of good choices.

This is a beautiful facility with very pleasant, efficient, and accommodating staff. We enjoyed the decorations, gas and wood fireplace, and player piano, as well as the wonderful restaurant and bar. The food and drink were top notch! We especially enjoyed the Crème Brûlée and Port! My husband was able to play their piano, so that made his stay for sure! We and other guests enjoyed it very much! Definitely plan on returning here!

We stayed at The Oaks on the River in 2025. My question was, "Are you the best kept secret in GA?" We have experienced 5-Star Hotels & Resorts--well known brands. I have experiences in hospitality so I have more than a casual traveler experience. For our stay, the Oaks matched those 5-star properties on all quality measures. Wow!! What a nice surprise. We decided to stay here instead of the standard highway side hotel. The inn is just 5 minutes off the freeway on quiet road. It was wonderful! We were greeted by a glowing fireplace in a beautifully decorated lobby with a grand piano playing and a friendly face at the front desk. The room was nicely furnished and had a balcony overlooking the river and very quiet. The beds and pillows were comfortable with a beautiful bathroom. We decided to eat at the restaurant at the hotel. It was lovely with an amazing view of the river, shrimp boats and sunset. The food was good. The pool looked inviting facing south. The workout room was impressive over looking the pool and river. They also have a spa and a sauna you have access to. I can't wait to come again on out next t
