Econo Lodge Darien

Positive: The clerk at check-in was extremely polite. When I asked him where he would like for us to park a U-Haul truck, he moved his personal vehicle and had us park across several spots so the roll up door was facing the security cameras. Negative: I wasn’t impressed with the free breakfast. I’ve stayed in other hotels that have offered 2 or 3 times the variety of food available for free breakfasts.

There was a few places in the bathroom that needed cleaned. The beds were not very comfortable, what’s your name? What do you need? Bob? Don’t get in trouble very worn in. Recently had a flood they were doing a lot of replacing carpet, and there was definitely a smelled of mildew.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was nice. Unfortunately the breakfast was the most lacking I have every encountered in a Choice Hotels chain location, and I have visited many. I'm a Choice member.

Room HVAC barely works, keeps cutting off despite the room NOT being close to the temp set. Fan set to high and even that cuts off too Its overall run down and ragged, rooms moderately clean but.. don't look close Lastly the bed... the pillows are literally throw pillow sized instead of normal pillows, which is a first and also uncomfortable.. mattress itself isnt too bad, but this ia the nosiest bed ive ever been on. Rolling over creaks like a haunting

The staff was very friendly. There is a horrible mold problem. The mold was visibley growing on the walls. It looks like the only attempt to correct the issue has been to paint over it which is definitely not a solution. Everything in the room was damp and musty, and we both woke up horribly congested this morning. Again, staff was amazing, super friendly, but we will not be going back again due to the mold problem which made us both pretty miserable.
