Navy Lodge San Diego

We are currently staying at this Navy Lodge and are posting after multiple unresolved issues. We checked into a family suite Sunday evening for a planned week-long stay. Shortly after unpacking, we found a live cockroach in the room. The front desk was apologetic and moved us to the room next door. The second room was clearly not properly cleaned. We found open food (including sugar and seasonings), makeup residue on a pillowcase, and food stains on the pillow itself. This raised serious concerns about cleanliness. Due to these delays, we were unable to fully settle in until late. While quietly moving furniture to set up the pull-out couch for our children, we received a noise complaint around 10:30pm — a direct result of the earlier room issues. We always stay here when we we’re in SD. The staff is amazing. The rooms are always clean. We get the room with the kitchen which makes it convenient to make our own food or store and reheat leftovers. The commissary is right there which makes it easy to grab anything we need during our trip. Given its location I was worried that it would be noisy but it’s always quiet (and thats coming from someone who hears everything!). Can’t wait to come back for our next visit!

Service, cleanliness and the room amenities are for the most part good. But I have to give three stars because the internet is really bad. 15 years ago I had the same speed, but between downloading manuals for my homework, running a business remotely and talking to my family, the internet could not keep up with any of it. It’s 2025 people, it’s time for an upgrade.

They are very accommodating to active/ retired service members and dependents. They serve a complimentary breakfast every morning and it’s very good. I feel as if I could stay here forever and be catered too🤣

Great rooms, friendly staff, and we felt safe on the base. We stayed here for 3 days on our family vacation and loved how close it was to what we wanted to do in the area. The staff was so friendly and so accommodating.
