Navy Lodge Monterey

We stayed here while in town for a few days for a diving trip. The hotel feels like it was just recently renovated. The staff were great and were able to help with any requests we had. The rooms are clean, quiet and safe. The doors do slam on their own which is a bit loud in the morning. The hotel has a laundry room that's pretty inexpensive which was a great benefit. Highly recommend a stay.

So clean,quiet, affordable, helpful staff, excellent breakfast, outdoor patio, lots of parking, very close to Monterey restaurants etc. Located close to freeway, but no road noise. Far away enough fron hustle and bustle. |Highly recommend.

Good: location is nice and secluded. The rooms were clean and thankfully had a ceiling fan since there is no AC. The breakfast was also nice. Negative: more pet friendly than family friendly. On our first night, our youngest child woke up very upset. From 11-12:45 am, we tried tirelessly to comfort them (even took them out to the car twice to help them calm down so we don't disrupt everyone else.) They didn't cry again until they woke up at 6 am the next morning. Note that throughout the night (and thankfully didn't wake them up again), there were multiple dogs barking as well as loud stomping above us, which I didn't call and report because you have to be ready for those when you stay at a hotel. Absolutely horrible stay. Worst military hotel I have ever stayed in. They made a mistake regarding pets when I checked in because apparently a new representative Misspoke and didn’t charge me for it Courteney decided to go ahead charge my card $150 without even speaking to me first When I spoke with her about it instead of being polite, got a very rude tone and continued to blame it on the new employee. There is no accountability at this hotel. And of course she does all this conveniently after the manager leaves for the day

This motel is on an open navy base and the bldg looks to be a barracks that has been converted to a hotel. The room was spacious, extremely clean and quite comfortable. Had a little kitchenette as well. Breakfast was more than I expected and included. Checked in late and only stayed 1 night, so I can't really comment on the service other than check- in was quick and smooth. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
