National Hotel

We stayed here for 2 nights before a cruise. Hotel is a gem to look at, very smart and clean. Check-in was very quick and easy. Booked a cabana suite overlooking the lovely pool. Beach is right behind the hotel with a dedicated area for guests, well serviced by excellent staff. All the hotel staff we dealt with were very professional and friendly, particularly Max in the restaurant and the bar tender in the hotel bar (forget her name!). We did have an issue whilst there, as an event had been booked in the pool area that went on all day BUT, I raised the issue with the front desk manager and emailed the hotel afterwards and they all dealt with it very well, so no complaints. Would recommend for location, beach access, food, lovely hotel, great size suites and excellent staff.

The location is a big plus—right in the heart of South Beach and close to everything. The pool is visually stunning and definitely the focal point of the property, but unfortunately it was quite dirty during our stay, which likely explains why no one was using it. The pool bar service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and did a great job, making time poolside enjoyable even if we didn’t want to get in the water. The rooms are in desperate need of renovation. They feel very dated and worn and don’t match the prime location or expectations for the property. With cleaner facilities and updated rooms, this hotel could be great, but right now it falls short.

We arrived to Miami Beach earlier than expected, and Robert, who personally assisted with our check-in, handled the situation with remarkable professionalism and discretion. He went well beyond what one typically expects—even at a top-tier property—by arranging an early check-in in the morning and ensuring the start of our stay was seamless. That flexibility genuinely changed the shape of our day and allowed us to settle in immediately and enjoy the property as intended. Positive: Nothing. Negative: At check-in, we were told we could not use the pool during normal hours over our five day, four night stay. That was the whole reason we chose the hotel in the first place. We were told we could get a refund which we later were told we could not.
