I just stayed two nights while in town for meetings. The location was great. This is the first time staying at a Moxy. It’s a fun vibe, but extremely impractical for anyone staying for business. The room is extremely small. I mean extremely small. The walls are dark charcoal with a silver ceiling making it way too dark. There isn’t a desk, but a shelf that unfolds from the wall. The lighting is very poor as well. The bathroom was extremely small as well. The deal breaker for me though was the air conditioner. It cycled on and off every 7 minutes all night long. It made it impossible to sleep. I will say, if you’re not there for work and you don’t need to run the air conditioner, it’s probably a lot of fun.

Loved this place! great location in the Gaslamp district, 15 min walk from the convention center. The room was just what I needed, nice bathroom, nice bed and no frills. The staff was really SUPER NICE and the bar, the center piece of the hotel, very welcoming. They also had nice bar food and breakfast. I did not try the speakeasy. My only complains are that there was no coffee in the room (free excellent coffee available downstairs but not for very early birds), I would have loved another blanket, and the gym was ok but very small. The room was also not cheap, but hotels in the area are all expensive. Overall, I am really happy to have stayed there and I hope to return.

Positive: Location; appearance, options, games, fitness center, clean room Negative: Most uncomfortable bed ever.. we didn't sleep at all and the beds are all queens should have options for king or 2 queens or 2 doubles etc. just so uncomfortable.. drinks are super expensive too

Great location in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, but that’s where the positives mostly end. The bar/reception “concept” sounds cool on paper, until there’s one staff member trying to run check-ins and serve drinks, creating lineups and frustration for everyone. Rooms are tiny—and I mean bare-minimum tiny. No closet, no safe, just a few wall hooks to hang your clothes. The price reflects this, so it’s not shocking, but don’t expect comfort or functionality. Valet parking is an absolute joke: $50 per night, run by a third-party contractor. Total rip-off. Do yourself a favor and find street parking instead—free after 10pm until 9am, and you can usually get away with feeding the meter a few bucks if needed. Cleanliness is acceptable but inconsistent—clean enough, yet visibly rough aroun

So to preface, I had already stayed at a Hilton the night before this, not willingly, of course. So going into this, I already had high expectations. I’ve stayed at Moxys around the world, so I should’ve expected this, but the service and hospitality was through the roof. Bella was there when I checked in and kept me company and chatted with me about San Diego (never been before) while I waited for my room to be ready. I told her about my Hilton experience and she was very empathetic and understanding. I sat there and had a few beers before my room was ready. The room ended up being absolutely perfect, and the view was amazing. Elevators were fast and efficient, hallways clean, and unlike Hilton, the showers and beds were immaculate. Well, I’m sure the Moxy alone would have sufficed, as
