Moxy NYC East Village

Great location by Union Square and Astor Place. The staff is great! They left me a nice Happy Bday message. I also appreciate the $20 daily consumption credit (which I think I got bc of my status.) But the room needed some love. The roller blind was torn; hot water took a LONG time to come in. (They did send staff as soon as I asked but it wasn't really things that could be quickly fixed.) The carpet motif and elevator artwork are questionable. But generally a good experience and I would stay again.

The rooms are designed for efficiency and placed in accordance with activities external to them. There was a wonderful and friendly staff who were standing in attention to serve us as we arrived. It felt welcoming and it set the tone for a remarkable experience in NYC close to Washington Sq. Park where the aim was aligned with the Dylan/Baez history amongst many others. But come here if you’d prefer to be around NYC to explore and experience all the goodness of the residents in NYC. The Moxy here is elevated with care. Thank you for everything!

The atmosphere is just fun and comfortable. It's a great location, plenty of things to do in the area. The room was super clean and had plenty of things I need such as shampoo and conditioner and soap. The welcome gift was perfect! ||Diara, the young woman at the check-in desk, is absolutely amazing! She is so friendly and helpful. She was so welcoming everytime I passed her going in and of out of the hotel. She answered all of my questions with genuine friendliness. She is definitely one of the nicest people I've met in the city so far!||The woman at the bar was also very nice and attentive even though she was busy.||I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would absolutely stay here again!

Positive: East Village is my favorite neighborhood to stay in on trips to New York, so the location is great. Easy walking distance to two subway stops. I appreciated that the roller shade on the window blocked outside light. Negative: Better layout could improve the feel & comfort of the room. I had to climb over my sleeping husband to get out of bed. Shower leaked to rest of the room including water somehow coming up through floorboards? Required resort fee is ridiculous.

I'm a Marriott fan but will avoid the Moxy brand. It's just never a comfortable stay. Our initial room was miserable. Unbearably hot in February. AC did not work. Hotel desk guy tried to convince us the hvac guy had fixed it but no! Thankfully we changed rooms. Second night was restful. Good location but like many city hotels everything is tight and constricted.
