Mountain View Lodge

My wife and I spent a weekend in Chewelah and had an absolutely wonderful stay at Mountain View Lodge. The property was beautiful, the room was comfortable, and the hosts were great. Rose and Ralph are turning over management to their son, Chris, and his wife, and we were lucky enough to meet all but Chris's wife. The property is very close to town, so it was convenient to everything, but it is a large open property so it was very relaxing.

I've stayed here multiple times and it's always been a wonderful experience!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in August. Unfortunately, it was terribly smoky from the wildfires in Canada and we couldn't see the views and scenery. But the cabin at the lodge was comfortable, spacious, and very nice for our dogs. The cabin was clean and newly remodeled. The kitchen worked well for us to cook dinner and breakfast and was well-stocked. Our dogs could run outside without being close to the road. We'd love to come back when the smoke is gone and stay again!

What a lucky find! We were on an Autumn motorcycle ride, and we decided it was too cold to camp … It was also hunting season, so we were very lucky to happen upon this cozy spot. Moderately priced, just 1.2 miles from town & we felt very safe parking our bikes there. Everyone was very friendly & it has a nice little semi-private table & seating area just outside our room, in the garden area where you can watch the sunset, sunrise, deer & wild turkeys. The bed is comfy, and a nice hot shower. Fridge and microwave in the room, plenty of coffee, but out of creamer. Enjoyed the satellite TV and WiFi. Only thing I’d suggest for them is to offer some breakfast/snacks and maybe put some bottled water in the fridge.

Three of us Seattle Mountaineers had a wonderful stay in the Travelers room after a weeks backcountry ski trip at Ymir Lodge in BC Canada. Best shower I've had in a long time. The property has a nice westerly sunset view and is only one mile up the hill from Chewelah. It is also 9 miles West from 49° North Ski Area. Although the ski was closed due to lack of snow (a very rare occurrence in late February), we hiked up and earned our own turns. Our hosts provided a great breakfast of cereals (including local granola), fruits, yogurt, pastries, bagels, bread, peanut butter, local honey, and OJ in which to choose from. Be sure to check out Sporty's restaurant in Chewelah for great burgers (even for a veggie like me). Thank you Rose and Ralph for your hospitality and making our visit a great on
