Motel 6 San Diego, CA - Southbay

Bugs in the bathroom. Very noisy. Overcharged for previous stay. I don't know if the deposit was used or not, but I was charged $146 for a one night stay, two people. No parking...unsavory clientele. Beds were comfortable and clean. It was hard to get the TV to work.

Positive: N̈ightime lighting in the parking lot. Seems very safe. Negative: The room i had needed a table and 2 chairs. Lots of room so this should be addressed.

Be cautious when booking at Motel 6 – San Diego, CA Southbay, especially if you reserve through Booking.com. I had a very disappointing experience this weekend after reserving a room for my girlfriend. Even though the reservation was confirmed, she was denied the room upon arrival and told she would have to pay the full price directly at the motel. When I contacted the motel manager, Melecio, to request a full refund for the original reservation, he denied the request, stating that because the booking was through Booking.com, he couldn’t assist. He also said the room was not provided because I was not physically present, despite the fact that I had emailed the property multiple times through Booking.com to notify them that my girlfriend would be arriving late in my place. My bf and I have stayed at a few Motel 6 hotels in San Diego. They are all nice. Some rooms are smaller than others. But this location has updated rooms, is quiet, everything works, the rooms are a good size, and clean. The pictures online are accurate. We aren't staying for business or vacation. We can't sign our lease until tomorrow, which means two nights here. My only advice....book online. Sign up for their member account and book online. If you book through reservations or by walk-in, it costs a lot more. When I looked for this 2-night stay online, the price was $70 p/night.
