Motel 6 Laurel, MS

I travel a lot for work, and spent a week at this location. It's conveniently located to many areas. The room was clean, but I could see telltale signs of construction work, and some odd lines in the ceiling. They had plenty of desk space for me to work on. The room slept well, but could use some modern upgrades such as USB charging ports. The area can get fairly noisy in the mornings when the rush hour commute starts, but it does stay mostly quiet at night. There are several places to eat within a short distance to this location. The staff were a pleasure to talk with. This location is way more affordable that other places in the area as well.

Positive: Location Negative: The room was nasty, drawers would not stay in dresser, holes and stains on walls, and smelt dusty and musty!! Major work needs to be done to this hotel. It was definitely not worth the price.

The staff has been VERY nice & the location is convenient. That's my only pros to report. The cons are numerous. The room was FAR from being clean. Being outdated is one thing. Being dirty is nasty and it there's no excuse for it! The floors turn your feet, socks or shoe bottoms black. I personally cleaned our floor 3 times before it was "clean" enough to walk on. In doing so I can't tell you how many pubic hairs and bug shells came off the floor. Stuff you don't notice much just by glancing at a room. Inside of the drawers had dirt (or roach poop) and at least 2 drawers would not stay closed. I found a roach bait behind one of the side tables. Very friendly staff. The room was filthy. It's a shame you got to bring your own cleaning products to spend the night in a motel. Shoe prints on the wall handprints on the doors. Dirty curtains. Dirty tub, no phones in the room. There is a microwave and a small refrigerator in the room, but the refrigerator is iced over barely worked.

Let's speak on a good note. The hotel is pet friendly so if you are traveling with pets that's the plus. The room was updated with new floors and paint and it was spacious. Now... If you are looking for a place without noise.. This isn't it. Between the other guests making noise and running up and down the property til the early hours of the morning and the noise from the highway, you will not sleep. Housekeeping doesn't come for days. You will have to go to the office repeatedly for towels and toiletries. If you are staying with a spouse and have problems with your card, they will not help to resolve the issue if you aren't on the reservation. Parking is a big problem. People who aren't staying in the front will purposely take the front parking in front of the rooms and the locals will s
