​Review: A Hidden Gem with a Furry Bonus! ​Rating: ★★★★★ ​I’ve stayed at plenty of roadside motels, but this Motel 6 in Coalinga (East) really surprised me in the best way possible. ​First off, the location is incredibly convenient right off the freeway, yet it was shockingly quiet. Usually, you expect a bit of road noise, but I had a perfectly peaceful night's sleep. Speaking of sleep—the beds were actually comfortable, which isn't always a guarantee at this price point. ​The absolute highlight of the stay, however, was the "roommate" that came with the room: a big, fat orange cat! He was incredibly friendly and loving, making the place feel less like a motel and more like a home. It's a Motel 6 that's off 5 going North. Room was clean, everything worked. Super bare bones, but we were traveling back home from Thanksgiving day. No frills, only stayed overnight to crash. If you need a place to sleep, shower, and move on with your journey, this place has it. Perfectly cromulent.

Clean and quiet basic motel. Smelled sanitized, which I appreciate. There’s a pool, which I didn’t use. At all times, I felt safe in my room. I had a good night’s sleep, bed was perfect. Several gas stations and fast food choices next to the motel and this place looked nicer than the others at this exit.. It would be nice if they offered a room with a fridge or microwave as a choice.

Positive: Location Negative: For 3 days and 2 nights, ice machines do not work. Need to keep my medical cold during the day while I am out and working… ended up have to buy ice everyday. Also people were drinking in front of their room and talking loudly all night.

Some of the reviews were pretty bad. Non of those were relevant to my room. I arrived at like 2:30am on a Thursday morning. Front desk was super friendly. Room was clean(9/18/2025). Sheets were not scratchy, AC was cold, shower was hot, shower was clean, room was clean, room was kept. I was in room 250
