Best Western Plus Coalinga Inn

Theft. This is unfortunately what happened here. First time in all my 20 years traveling for work I have ever had something taken from my room. The front desk staff and property manager were very apologetic and seemed genuinely concerned. I stayed 11 nights; the housekeeper who cleaned my room denied it, and my personal property was never found. The manager was kind enough to reimburse me for the value of what was taken. I will forgive the lady who stole from me; just know, dishonesty will not get you anywhere in life. Stealing and lying about something worth $50 is not worth the criminal consequences. The Hotel was clean and the lady at the front desk was friendly. The room was clean and nicely decorated. We were looking for a hotel to rest on our way from Los Angeles to San Francisco. This was a good and affordable half way point. It is a bit far (about 7 miles) from the 5 freeway. The bar didn't offer anything to eat as the stove wasn't working that night. We were hungry and the lady at the front desk gave us a list of nearby Resturants. The bed was comfortable and the shower was large. They offer breakfast, but I wouldn't recommend it. The food was cold and the pancake machine was cute, but the pancakes came out hard. The people in the dinning area were nice though.

Positive: It was close to destination which was primary concern. Negative: The breakfast was inadequate. Of 2 night stay, we had breakfast after 1st night and skipped 2nd night to go to Highway101 cafe instead. A much better alternative. The bathroom sink was dirty, the floor was sticky, and the alarm clock didn't work.

Best Western Plus Coalinga was a great experience for a roadtrip quick overnight stay. The place is clean organized and very well run. The rooms are huge the beds are comfortable and even the sheets smell great. Breakfast was ample but the best part is the people. Maria is the manager who’s been there since day one eight years ago and it shows. Maria told me the staff are all friends, love working there and feel fully supported by the owner. Most of them live nearby and take real pride in the hotel and their work. Everyone is genuinely happy and it makes a difference. It’s 10 minutes off the I5 but worth the extra time.

The rooms were large and clean. This is a pet friendly hotel so our beagles were welcome. They had a nice hot breakfast nothing fancy but good to get the day started. The staff was friendly.
