Motel 6 Branford, CT - New Haven

Positive: 1. Its superb location -- near the highway and yet in a quiet area. 2. Its staff -- the two female receptionists and Lyle, the very helpful assistant. 3. The TV had a wide variety of channels. 4. Comfortable bed and pillow. Negative: I wish my room had a small fridge, given the price.

Though this motel building is older, it still looks contemporary and the grounds looked well kept and well lighted. Check-in was quick and the staff person was friendly, pleasant and efficient. The overnight room rate was very competitive and reasonable.|The room was recently updated in a contemporary style with new laminate flooring throughout, new furnishings and fixtures. The mattress was especially comfortable. Though the bedding seemed to lack a comforter or extra blanket available. One obvious deficiency was that only 2 pillows were provided. Making it difficult for us to sit up against the headboard to watch TV. The TV was a good size, and came with hundreds of regular channels and HBO. |The room came with a microwave and refrigerator which was useful and thankfully the refrigerator

The entire first floor smells putrid, a strong combination of cat pee and cigarettes. It also has roaches. The manager is extremely rude and when we were leaving the cleaning staff went in the room even though we were not fully checked out. Would never recommend staying here

I paid for a non-smoking room, but the room smells like cigarettes. I asked for my money back. I'm not going to sleep in a dirty place. They say they can't guarantee a refund. I'll have to go to court if they don't give me my money back and compensation for damages. It's cold today; it's impossible to sleep in my car. They have a copy of my driver's license, and I assume they copy the license of all their customers.Today is January 29th and I'm waiting for my money to be returned to my bank account. These people are dishonest, please be careful, don't pay, check the room before paying.

Nice clean rooms and great location. And I can't forget the staff, Chintoo and the rest of the Motel 6 team are awesome. For the most part I've dealt with Chintoo, and he always provided great customer service. Great job Motel 6(Branford), keep up the great work.
