American Inn

Although this place is cheaper than other motels in the area, I would definitely say it is not worth it. Pay the extra money and go somewhere that isn’t a bug infested clap trap. Confused by the comments saying this place is clean because my family stayed in two different rooms and they both were disgusting. They clearly didn’t vacuum as the floor was covered in dirt and crumbs; there was food and cereal in the drawers. Dust on everything. Rooms smelled of smoke despite being non smoking. Rips and holes in sheets. Wear and tear all over the walls, carpet, bathroom, etc. WiFi was not reliable at all and one of our TVs did not work. We drove to the nearby Walmart for cheap blankets and pillow cases because the beds were so gross.

The room served our purpose of a need for a one night stay in Branford. The gentleman at the reception desk was very friendly. The room was very dated and dingy. In need of upgrades and a coat of paint. The bathroom was in disrepair with missing tiles and a hole in the bath surround. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean. If someone put the money and effort into upgrades and repairs it could be a cute little motel. In the current condition, we would likely not stay here again.

I was first impressed by how clean, quiet, and comfortable the room was. It had all the amenities that I needed for a business one-night stay. The hotel staff was great and friendly. Check-in and check-out were efficient. I was fine with not having an included breakfast; it saved me money. In the evening, I went to the diner across the street and Dunkin' Donuts in the morning next door. The room rate was great. I would recommend it to others.

Positive: The sheets seemed clean. Negative: The front desk told me there was no maid service. At about 930am, as I was brushing my teeth, my door opened. The man opening the door said that he was the manager, checking on the room. WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD ANYONE NEED TO CHECK ON THE ROOM, SNOOPER!

Quaint, simple, family-owned and operated Motel in a super convenient and easy to to get to location. Room was clean and quiet, staff is friendly and responsive to needs of its guests. No frills, wifi is awesome, and overall quality is spot on. Enjoy my stays and always feel welcome.
