My stay at Moreland Guest House was akin to stepping back to a simpler, friendlier time, when I stayed at bed and breakfasts across the country. It was always so warm and welcoming to be met by the innkeeper, who immediately let me know that my comfort was their primlary concern.|That is exactly what I encountered at Moreland! The early 20th century home is immaculate and exhudes charm! Yes, the shared bathroom is down the hall, but it is also large and commodiously |stocked with the toiletries I needed. Towels are truly oversized and the large shower is excellent.|Best of all is the delicious coffee in the morning, along with a simple breakfast, prepared by an an innkeeper who was eager to chat and ask if there was anything else I needed, or any changes I might suggest to improv

Moreland Guesthouse is a hidden gem, tucked away in the suburbs of Buffalo, almost on the way to the airport. Clean facilities, friendly service. The area has small town vibe. Much more accessible (including public transport) compared my first impression. Highly recommended.

A wonderful and clean place to stay when coming to visit Buffalo, New York. The host Catherine is the sweetest, kindest and most accommodating person. The beds were clean and the room temperature was perfect. The common areas were clean, organized, and everyone showed good manners and taste and waiting their turn to use them. I've had the pleasure of staying at the Moreland Guesthouse twice. Once for most of a week and then for a weekend later on. It's a cozy place run by some great people. It's an incredible value for the money. It's incredibly pragmatic if flashy stuff and having every amenity available isn't important. You get a bedroom with a TV. A dresser or chest. Maybe a closet. A community bathroom with an insistence on community. You clean up after yourself. There's laundry. A full kitchen. All at your disposal. It's about 12 minutes from downtown Buffalo. It sits on the east side of the city which on paper could be a deterrent; until you get there. I felt safe. I felt secure. The Moreland Guesthouse is a former nun convent, a 1922 brick house with all original wood trim and private guest bedrooms. The common rooms and guest rooms have been updated from the photos on their website, but have kept the vintage vibe. The beds were modern and comfortable, a desk, TV and wi-fi access were in each room. They have reported renovating and expanding the community kitchen, but at our visit, the work was underway and the back pool room was a storage area, unlike what their website photo shows. The guest kitchen available was the pantry, with all the old woodwork, coffee, teas and condiments, paper plates and napkins. when asked for a real coffee cup, our hostess did have them and forgot to put them out.
