Perfect place to crash after a Moore Theater show. Perfect place to stay in general. Friendly and efficient stuff. Place has a ton of character but no dust or smell that usually come with it. It was clean, beds were comfortable, linens and towels were spotless. Room was spacious with high ceilings. We loved the radiator heater and ability to open windows. It does get noisy with open windows from emergency vehicles since it’s right next downtown, but I wasn’t bothered. We loved everything about the place.

The location was great. The room was clean. It was a vintage Hotel and conveniently located to the Moore Theater right next door.||The radiator heater was on full boar and we could not stay past 4 am. The bed is right next to the heater and the curtain above it that was touching on it was about 95 degrees or more. That felt unsafe for sure.||During check out I told the front desk about the heater and the curtain issue. He said that the 4th floor is comfortably heated and the rest of the Hotel heating has been an issue.

Positive: The location of this hotel puts you in walking distance to Pikes Market and even the waterfront. Negative: The hotel staff was a mixed bag: one front desk employee (a middle aged woman at check in) was unhelpful from the start and progressed to aggressive and offensive. Made up "policy."No air conditioning,Noisy,Too cramped to sit fully on toilet,Etc

I booked three nights expecting a comfortable stay and got the exact opposite. The room smelled musty, the bed felt like a slab of plywood under a thin sheet, and the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly. Housekeeping skipped our room one morning, and when we mentioned it the front desk acted like it was our fault. The elevator was painfully slow and the hallway lights flickered at night — I didn’t feel safe walking back to the room after 10pm. For the price they charge, I expected basic cleanliness and helpful staff; instead I left after one night and asked for a refund. Would not recommend.

This is a cool old hotel we’ve stayed there twice. For people complaining, book a stay at a fancier hotel? For everything we are looking for, which means all basic amenities provided, they go a step beyond. Location is amazing, rooms are very nice, restaurant downstairs is open late and the coffee shop is good too. It’s true there’s no a/c, for us the box fan was adequate. Yeah the shower head could be a little higher but who really cares?
