I would really like to leave a positive note about the Midway experience, but I'm unable to do so this year. We've been staying here for years when we visit the cape, but I agree with the last reviewer, and several others, who reported lack of cleanliness, which for us, is a baseline requirement anywhere we stay. The bathroom of The Captain's Quarters was appalling. There was peeling, cracking wallpaper, broken fixtures and moldy tub. Outside was in disrepair, with a shaggy, cluttered lawn and main office. Towels were brought by when we asked, but there was no thorough cleaning during our week's stay. ||Our experience would not inspire anyone to stay here again. Completely unacceptable. Come on, owners, would YOU like to stay somewhere with these challenges? The price, and our hopes from t

We had an excellent time here in the Steerage room! The room and location are beautiful. Calling this a motel really is a misnomer- regardless of your room, it feels like you're luxury-style camping, since you're staying in the middle of the woods. The grounds have a natural and rustic aesthetic, and it stays pretty cool thanks to the surrounding trees! There are some fire pits and grills around you can use if you check in with the owner, too! You're nice and close to beaches here, but you're pretty far back from the loud cars in the main road. The beds were quite comfortable! The room reminded me of home and we all felt comfortable immediately. That being said, some reviews complain about bugs, and there were, occasionally, bugs. This is, of course, because there are bugs in the woods,

We’ve stayed at the Midway a few times over the last few years. The location can’t be beat. It’s convenient to everything- beaches, shopping, restaurants. It feels like old Cape Cod with the giant oak tree canopy covering most of the motel. The owners are very nice- contacting us the day before about check-in. And the price is very reasonable. On the flip side, the place needs some love. The room needed a thorough cleaning. The bathroom was in pretty rough shape: Ceiling paint was cracking and peeling, the fixtures in the tub were leaking, the shower curtain was covered in mildew, and the tub was very dirty. It is also the very end of the season- so maybe the plan is to refresh and fix over the winter. To be honest, this last time staying was such a turn off, I’m it sure we’ll

Before and after Sally review, as our entire family have been staying there many years, both before and after the new owner. First off, this is one of the nicest settings up and down the Cape. A classic rustic setting, and has always been affordable. Wooded surrounds short of renting a much more expensive home are hard to better. Typical sized motel rooms, mostly just enough for 1-2 with a few bungalows with more amenities for a family of 3-4 and I recall 2 slightly larger rooms near the office. A step up from camping but could be 2 steps. Now the criticisms and I knew Sally, I wish the new owner nothing but the best as it would be a shame if this one disappeared to over development. Cleanup crew for towels etc. only show up after checkout which is not good. The owner is off-sight which pr

My wife and I have been going down to the Cape Cod National Seashore for the past 25 years. However, I discovered this area 40 years ago when I was a seasonal (summer) park Ranger. This is a beautiful area of the Cape that President John F. Kennedy created back in the 1960s. This is the part of the Cape that is protected from development under the legislation that created the National Seashore, so there are no high buildings and no fast food chains or other franchises that detract from so much of the other parts of Cape Cod.||We know the area very well. We have stayed at the Midway in Eastham before, and it is well managed. It offers terrific accommodations that we really like. Mind you, there are very few upscale hotels in this part of the Cape (with the exception of Provincetown.) Almost
