Basic, clean, great and seemingly safe location. No elevator and staff don't offer to help so will need to carry your own luggage upstairs so only for fit and able people to stay or have minimal luggage. The older evening staff was quite rude but the other younger one was ok. Wifi slow on 3rd floor so use mobile data. Street noise. Overall, basic, very clean and great location so good value for money but just Caution need to carry own luggage, street noise during and wifi.
I would’ve given it 5 stars if there was an elevator! That aside, I really enjoyed my stay! Fantastic location and the rooms are very clean. Quite quaint but fair and the view from the third floor corner room was surprisingly great! Real nyc experience with the view, fire escape outside the window, and noisy traffic right outside lol. Heavy traffic area, lots of honking that night I stayed, but I enjoyed that part, like asmr to me. The owner (I think?) was straightforward and quick with the check in process as well as nice and accommodating overall. Only downsides are the lack of an elevator and the tall, narrow stairs so be prepared to haul luggage up. The halls outside the rooms did leave much to be desired as well- messy and smelled like chemicals. It was all worth it for the value of t
Positive: "" Negative: Rude receptionists, all 3 during our 2 night stay. Street noise loud/third floor (no elevator.) Dirty unsafe look from the outside. Tiny room and bathroom. Looked like a jail room. Better choices in NY and better prices if you book the same day.
The Midtown West Hotel is a very good hotel for a quick getaway into the city.|Its location, a block from MSG, Moynihan Train Hall, and Penn Station is ideal to get around the city and outside of it.|The hotel has no elevator.|I was given a room on the 2nd Fl.|The room is small with a twin bed, a little table, a nightstand table, the headboard has shelves to place clothing, and other personal stuff.|A wall TV with its remote and AC with remote.|A small private bathroom with basic toiletries. The walk-in shower is a little square with a good flow of water, and it would be better if, instead of hanging the curtain on a straight rod, they used a curved one. It gives more space, so the curtain doesn't stick to the person showering.||The room was clean (the hotel personnel were cleaning it as I
Small and loud with thin walls, but it's a budget hotel on a busy NYC street- that's expected. No elevator and the heat was turned up too high with no way to control it. Our room was clean and service was friendly and helpful, even letting us store luggage after we'd checked out. Bed was okay, pillows were pretty bad. Great central location, and a bodega with a cute cat is right next door. Would stay again if I was on a budget again, with some hesitation perhaps.
