Michie Hostel

I am extremely pleased with my experience staying at Michie Hostel. My room was great, perfect size for my wife and I. The price was affordable and the location is so convenient and close to many stores, restaurants, fast food locations and bus stops. I am hoping there is availability for me to book a room tonight. The gentleman who provided check in service and customer service was very efficient, effective, polite and helpful. Ten out of ten recommend. The bed was so comfy.

We stayed at the Michie Hostel for 4 nights. While the first 3 nights were acceptable, on our last night I was jolted awake in the middle of the night to a mouse running across my face while I was in bed. I let out a scream and jumped out of bed. I could not find where the mouse went. My family and I tried to go back to sleep, but for the rest of the night you could hear mice moving around the room and going through our luggage and shopping bags. We got very little sleep. In the morning, we found mouse droppings. I alerted the staff to this and asked that they kindly refund the last night, as it was not acceptable or reasonable at all for us to have rodents in bed with us. Rationale for ratings: Rooms: 4/5 - Beds in Room 1 and 2 need a better support structure. Multiple slats easily become dislocated, and while they are fixable, having something with fixed slats may prevent this issue. The upper bunk in room 3 needs to me more adequately secured to the wall, and the ladder is missing the right hook to the upper frame. The TV in room 3 also needs a remote. The bathroom on the second floor has had multiple problems, likely due to some of the non-regular guests flushing things which should not be flushed. I personally think that the women staying in the hostel should have access to the more private restrooms and showers on the third floor. Positive: Well equipped kitchen. Other residents were lovely and very helpful. Bathrooms were very cleans. Negative: The booking price is actually the deposit. You then pay the standard room fee to get the check in details.If you book after 4pm you may need to wait an hour or so to get the check in details. The mattress sagged and was uncomfy

Stayed here with my partner for a fun weekend in Providence and honestly really enjoyed it. The room isn’t fancy, but it was clean, cozy, and the bed was super comfortable — perfect for a couple of nights. We spent both nights downstairs at Dancing Cats, had some drinks, danced a lot, and even made a few new friends. After staying out late, it was great to just walk upstairs and be in the room in a minute. The self check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the whole stay felt simple and relaxed. For a couple looking to have a good time and keep things affordable, this place is a great pick.
