Aloft Providence Downtown

First time staying at an Aloft Hotel and was pleasantly surprised! From the moment I walked in, I found the decor to be quite trendy and the color scheme bold and elaborate. The lobby space was very open and good for groups to hang out either at the bar or by the billiards table. I would have checked out all the other amenities more if I was planning to do nothing else but hang out at the hotel. But heck, I’m by downtown Providence and my goal was to drop everything off and run off into the night like I’m young again. The room was very clean and well maintained. Pros:|- Great Mexican restaurant in the same building called Yellow Door Taqueria.||- Cool loft design for the rooms, with a curtain separator for the shower/ sink area and a WC room with a sliding door. Very cool and functional when you have a big group.||- Great mini fridge, with a glass door so you can see what’s inside.||Cons:|- Bad check in experience. They have a drop off zone at the front but it might as well not exist because every time we saw it there was no way for a car to get in because the valets just leave these big SUVs in there. We could barely squeeze in to get our bags to the car for checking out by pulling into the bus lane.||- Customer service is disappointing. One day it was raining and I asked for an umbrella. The host said “maybe “ and went to check but then came out

We stayed here for one night to attend my brother’s graduation ceremony at RISD. The hotel is conveniently located and very clean as its a new facility in the town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend people to stay.

Overall, it was a solid place to stay. The interior is modern and well laid out, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The room itself was fine, though the bed wasn’t as comfortable as I had hoped. For once, I also wasn’t a fan of the hotel pillows—the width felt short, and it took some adjusting to find a comfortable sleeping position. The bathroom, however, was very spacious, and the shower was huge, which was a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t a fan of needing the master switch to control all the lights, and the toilet paper holder in my room was broken and just dangling from the wall. Still, overall it was a solid experience, and I would stay here again. One thing to note: be prepared to keep your room key on you at all times, as you’ll need it to move through the building. Good location. Room layout is weird. Bathroom is semi open so if someone is showering and you need to wash your hands u see all they have to offer and very minimal closet space ....Valet is great. Jason and Danny were nice and attentive. Always had our car when we requested.
