McKinney Campground

Stayed here two nights (Friday and Saturday) at beginning of January. Two night minimum on weekend which I wish they didn't have. I enjoyed the site. Plenty big and the photos online booking are nice. Site 51. Bathrooms not super close but I enjoyed the single stall! Bring own soap/hand sanitizer

No longer a COE campground. Now run by Bartow county GA. They di accept America the beautiful passes. Call 770-607-6245, they will add number to your account. Only need to do once, number will show up next time for any Bartow county campground. |We stayed here in a 42' 5th wheel. |Exit 285 off I-75, Took us through narrow, winding roads, onto a 14' bridge then more tight roads for about 10 miles.|Check in was pretty easy. Have your drivers license, plate number of your RV and tow vehicle ready. Roads to our campsite were paved and narrow. Booked a 50 foot site. Had a hard time pulling into site as it was pretty sharp. Only stayed 1 night. Nice view of lake. Our site had cigarettes butt's around it and in fire pit.

Nice Campground. Plenty of spots to choose from. Restrooms and showers are decent. Hot water and good water pressure. Flushable toilets. The waterfront spots have a nice view of the lake. 2 gas stations and a dollar general right up the hill. Has a smaller playground for the kids. Park attendants are friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice family friendly place to camp.

I have posted about McKinney Campgrounds before and it is always beautiful and a great experience for my dog and I. If you enjoy the outdoors and waking up with the lake outside your door, doesn't matter if you stay in a tent or camper, you will be happy with this place. Also you will see many deer and hear them at night. When really dark, you can't see them, but it sounds like they are going to come right up to the campsite.

The sites are big, most sites have lovely views of the lake and restrooms are clean. We like it because it is just an hour from home, but we have to take something into consideration when deciding to go here. I am pretty sure it depends on the site, but we were at site 44 and the cell service was in and out the whole weekend. There is also a train that goes at all hours of the night and day. Another small complaint is we wish there were more garbage stations/dog poop stations. The park is nice though, clean and the hosts are super friendly.
