Great stay at MCCS big bear. We stayed in the A frame cabin and found it to be so very cute, clean and newly renovated. Our family of four (2 small kids) slept comfortably in the large memory foam beds. There is a one bedroom with a full size bed and a loft upstairs with two twin beds. The bathroom has a small shower but there is toiletries like shampoo and conditioner, lotion and makeup remover. The kitchen and living room space worked well for our family. They had utensils and pots and pans but no stove. The outdoor area was beautiful this time of year (November 2025) brisk at night and fall during the day. There is even a playground for the kids and walking paths for hiking. Location is five minutes from coffee shops and ten minutes to downtown. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Cabin 6. Newly renovated. Kitchen fully stocked. Bathroom toiletries provided (enough for the weekend). Wall heater. Fireplace (Duraflame logs not provided). Ample blankets and pillows but we brought our own. Comfortable, cozy, clean. Back door did not have curtain so I used a coat hanger and covered it with my coat. Grounds were so clean and easily walkable. If you’re doing an early check-out make arrangements the day prior, the office does not open until 8 am. Close to town and all amenities. Dogs allowed for additional fee. Would definitely go back!

A hidden gem! We’ve really enjoyed tent camping here a few times in the summer months. Close enough to town if you need it but also a really peaceful, secluded feel at the campground.

The front desk staff was very friendly and professional. Very smooth check-in. I was impressed with the cabin HOWEVER When we arrive the cabin was not very clean. Beds were made but the floor/carpet could have been vacuumed. We do take our shoes off and stepped on a lot of stuff. The rooms have NO cable, you have to cast from your phone to the TV. The reason I gave service a 3 is because front desk was great and deserves a 5, but we had no housekeeping while we were there. The location was great. We're about 5 minutes from the zoo. About 10 minutes from the village which is downtown.

Love the cabins, area and that it is military site. Well kept and grateful to be able to book. 🇺🇲
