Mark Twain Motor Inn

The rooms aren't spectacular, but it's the cheapest place around, so you're getting what you pay for. The first room we got smelled bad, so I went to the front desk and he immediately gave us a better room without any hassle. The bed is very hard, and there are no outlets.

This hotel sits in a nice wooded scenic backdrop, and that's about all it has going for it. You get what you pay for....we had no choice when we pulled into town as all the hotels in the area were booked. They had crooked pictures screwed to the wall as decorations, the paint on the walls AND baseboards had been done quite a few times and was tacky. The middle cover on the bed was so "pilled" (little balls of fabric) from being washed 500 times, we thought it must have come from the Mark Twain era. The room smelled very musty. It was clean and no bugs (we checked very carefully). There were threads hanging from the outside cover from being washed so many times. The rooms were huge, there was a lot of floor space in our room. There was a microwave, fridge, a bench to put boots on and a desk and chair. Breakfast is not offered. The AC sounded like an idling 18 wheeler next to your eardrum...however this kinda became white noise as we slept!! This is why I marked it 3 stars! It is an inexpensive place to stay to visit the Corning Museum of Glass and you can go to The Diner just north of the motor lodge for brunch in a 1940's train car.

This is not a hotel. It’s a spot. I was only there for a half an hour because it was an emergency and they would not give me a refund and like I said I was only there for half an hour and the room smell like mildew and there’s cockroaches as well stay away from the place. It’s not good
