Maple Terrace Resort

Owner was nice and cabin was clean. Resort is on a hill leading to a good climb up to our cabin from the water. My only complaint was you can't see the water from most cabins. Very wooded. Fishing was mediocre. Most target panfish. Fished for bass pike and walleye with limited success but the timing was not right and the weather was rainy and windy.

We have been coming to MTR since 2000. This place is a great place to relax and enjoy the northwoods and lakes. The cabins are clean and well supplied with all items needed - you bring the towels, etc. There is a laundromat in Birchwood - just 5 minutes away. It is attached to the Birchwood Cafe so you can have a nice breakfast while your laundry is in the wash! Jim and Laurie purchased the resort 3 years ago and have made improvements each season to the cabins/resort. You could not ask for nicer hosts! We plan to come back each year as long as the boat floats!

My Wife and I stayed here 5 years ago; we loved it so much that I sent everything in to TripAdvisor to get them listed. We went back this year, and it was instantly obvious that Jim & Laurie have been VERY busy improving Maple Terrace Resort. The free Wi-Fi is good, but you’d be foolish NOT to get the High Speed internet, and at $7 for the week, why not? You’ll want to send pics of the cabins, the views, sitting around the Community Fire Pit next to the Welcome Center (GREAT spot for hosting get-togethers), and pics of you relaxing on the various cabin decks. Now, all the cabins have tankless water heaters, and it’s so nice you’ll want to go roll around in mud just so that you can take another shower! We had a great trip! The cabins are very nice, clean, and super views from the covered porch on the cabin. There is a lot to do in the area and we caught a lot of northerns and bluegills. We have stayed at 4 resorts in Birchwood and this is our favorite. The owners made us feel right at home.

The Johnson family was fortunate enough to find an opening at the MT back in 2004. We have been coming up ever since for our family vacations. Jim and Laurie treat you like family just like the former proprietors (Bill and Marilyn) did. The cabins are clean and modern (cable, wifi, ac and plenty of hot water for your showers). Birch lake is your door step with all the action any angler can handle. From all pan fish to Muski (Birch lake feeds into lake Chetek!) you won't be disappointed-period!!! The resort has a new addition worth mention-Jim built a wonderful guest party shack with all the amenities (ac,sound system, huge outdoor deck and more). We like to gather here during the evening (after fishing of course) to enjoy the company of other resort guests, have a few Leinenkugels while we
