MainStay Suites Watford City - Event Center

Been here for 5 nights now and no internet since I checked in. Some of the electrical in my room is whack too; bathroom main light and fan don't function unless the main light switch above the desk is on. The light by the door also doesn't work unless the light switch above the desk is on. The light above the desk is pretty bright, I wish I could just keep it off and use the lamp but then my bathroom light and the one by the door won't work. Also, my room smells like cigarettes sometimes, very strongly like it's drafting in. The no internet thing though is pretty BS though, sure I can hotspot my phone to send emails but I'd easily forgo the breakfast in the morning for having wifi.

The weekends in small towns are tough to staff (anything) appropriately. The front desk representative was the housekeeping staff, laundry staff, and trash remover all while running the front desk. Even through all of that she was beaming with hospitality and cared about my stay. The breakfast was extremely underwhelming at 7:30am, but I'm sure it was just an off day.

When we arrived, around 10:00 at night, there was no one at the front desk. I rang the door bell, as indicated at the front desk. After about 20ish minutes of waiting, I began to explore the hotel/front desk area as I was concerned maybe something happened to the staff. There was no one there. I checked the office area, laundry, staff break room, bathrooms, etc.. basically everywhere there wasn't a locked door and couldn't find anyone. After about 35 minutes I found a phone number for the general manager in the office area and called and woke her about. About 5 minutes later, the front desk staff appeared from down a hall and booked me in. While I realize at night staff may have other duties, leaving the front desk unstaffed that long without a way to contact them seems pretty unprofession

Great location super clean. Great staff. Def would recommend

Nice, comfortable place to stay. Room and bathrooms are roomy and the extra kitchenette came in handy. It was quiet during our stay and the rooms were clean. The staff was very nice.
