MainStay Suites Bismarck

The king size bed took up too much room. The wall heater blew hot air right onto the person sleeping on that side of the bed. That made for a very uncomfortable rest. The room was clean and in good condition. I was not recognized as a valued customer like I have been in the past.

We booked this room for two nights. After the first night I found a bed bug crawling up the wall. I have pictures of it as well. When I told the gentleman at the front desk he seemed less than worried or concerned about my experience but said he would have maintenance check the room. I will never stay in any of the three hotels all connected together. Not to mention that I had to keep going to the desk of the hotel I wasn't even staying at. Because of staffing issues. Very unprofessionally ran business in my opinion. I thought choice hotels would do better than this. Completely disgusted overall with my experience. My skin was crawling two days after.

Positive: "" Negative: Front desk wasn’t staffed at check-in or checkout. I had to call staff from a neighboring affiliated property to check in. There were trash bags in the hallways, common areas smelled like pot smoke, coffee machine didn’t work.

We absolutely loved the room it was everything we were hoping for. The reason for the rating was that the people across the hall from us smoked pot/weed the whole time we were there you would get a STRONG smell of it coming from their room. i had 2 children staying with me in the room and had to explain to them that someone was smoking over there and tell them to stay away from the door. We layed rolled up towels at the bottom of door to keep the smell of pot/weed out of our room. The doors all had NO SMOKING signs on them and I would think that would go for pot/weed. My guests that I had come visit us during our stay commented on the strong smell of pot/weed as well. I love staying at your hotel and plan to in the future is there any way you can let people staying in those no smoking room

The beds were good. I liked the kitchenette facilities though it would have been nice to have a little travel size dish soap for hand washing dishes during our stay. The bathroom was good except the hair dryer only stayed on about 7 seconds before over heating and turning off. The bathroom sink drain was also slow and took several minutes to drain water.
