The host was kind, but the environment did not feel calm or secure during my stay. There was noticeable commotion when I arrived, and after reviewing past guest feedback, I realized this was not an isolated experience. I ended up leaving early and booking alternative accommodations. I wouldn’t recommend it for travelers who prioritize quiet and a sense of safety. Please run the other way

Blood on the mirror, owners son taking an hour and a half in the communal shower and left his underwear on the sink, dirty mattress and bedding, holes in the walls, reeked of weed, so much fighting, no heater, and a random ferret named Ludwig. Definitely an unforgettable stay, just glad it was affordable, but for the price compared to the experience we might have overpaid! Also, James had a British accent over the phone but was no where to be found in person? The guy who said he was james was named Brian with a normal NY accent? So confusing!

My husband & I stayed here for 4 nights. The host seemed welcoming at first, and the first 3 nights were ok. HOWEVER on the 4th night the owner & her partner and possibly another person were having screaming fights. We went to sleep and were woken up by the shouting several times during the night. We needed to get up at around 6:30 to be able to make our breakfast & pack up to leave, but the screaming was so intense at that hour that we just packed up and left without making our breakfast. Stay here at your own risk, as this is not the first review to mention these kind of disturbances.

I stayed with a one year old as the elevator in my building is being fixed and I can’t manage too many stairs. I booked via Bookings for the room with shower. I arrived and chose to wait outside for the 3pm check as it’s specified as check in without further charge. I was made to wait 20 mins while some maintenance was being carried out. I returned around 8pm - the bathroom had not been cleaned. Nor the bedding changed it had a misty smell to it. I went to the launderette a block away and message via text and email. No response by 9pm. I contacted bookings.com and they couldn’t get hold of anyone. I called three times and was told new bedding would be downstairs. I took my 1 year old and waited for a further twenty minutes. Went back and lay her down on the towels which were / smelt clea

I stayed one night (Sept 12 to the 13th, 2025). The room was small but that's NYC townhouse typical so I was not at all upset by that. The owner was friendly and sweet. Air conditioner cooled me right down after a long sweaty subway ride. If you're looking for some home-like accommodations in a great residential neighborhood where I felt 100% safe as a solo female presenting traveller, book with this place!
