Lucas Cabins

My best friend and I stayed in 223 for the weekend. It was absolutely BREATHTAKING. I loved waking up to the cows and the beautiful mountain side. A few things I wish were different is the guest bathroom did not have a normal shower head. It was a VERY, VERY hard pressured shower head that was pointed up against the wall with no way to move it. It was so hard and PAINFUL on my skin that I had to shower in the master bathroom shower that had a slip mat in the tub and a mobile shower head. I broke my ankle last April so this setup was very useful. Just wish the guest bathroom had the same amenities. Also, I wish there were blinds in the windows. There are ZERO blinds. This place was sweet! Cleanest rental ever! If I had to search for a negative it would be the old appliances but they all worked just fine. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

I stayed in one of these cabins last year and had a fantastic experience. The location is peaceful and quiet with breathtaking views of the Shenandoah Valley and the mountains. If you enjoy stargazing while not having to go out into the wilderness with a tent, then this is the place to be. The stars in the night sky felt like they were right in front of you! You could sit on the porch for hours and easily lose the stress of life's problems. I felt at ease as I saw the headlight of the 10 o'clock freight train zooming westward a mile away from the cabin, blowing its horn for the rural crossings and insuring me that the world was doing okay. Advice and review from a recent stay. Bring proper firewood and starter so you can enjoy the outdoor fireplace. Don't order pizza for delivery, just bring frozen. Bring your own non-stick pans. Most utensils you need are provided. Pros: -Next to a cowfield so you always have a view -Direct view of Skyland in Shennandoah -Hottub -Ammenities were clean Cons: -Next to a cowfield (lots of gnats) but then why else are you going to a cabin in the country? -Dead light bulbs (not something that would effect my rating unless it was essential which they weren't)
