Lost Lake Campground

This campground online says tents only. The road is lumpy but totally drivable by a small motorhome or camper van. Highway noise all the time. Deserted during our September visit. The “Lost Lake” is a marshy meadow drained by the “lava tubes”

Close to highway, and I'd imagine that mosquitoes could be an issue during certain times of the year. I visited for an hour to stretch my legs and get some fresh air. I would like to come back and camp, the #8 site seemed like a nice spot.

Numerous day visits over the years. This time we decided to camp. So peaceful. You can hear the highway noise a little. After a while you learn to tune it out and enjoy all the sounds of nature.

Dirt roads, bumpy, better for trucks/high clearance but a sedan could still make it (just go slowly). Spaced out camp sites, single bathroom nearby each camping area. No running water, pit toilets only. The bathroom was pretty clean, it didn't stink at all which was surprising. Came through in October and the lake was mostly dried up, just a big puddle left.

The road isn't nearly as bad as people are saying. I had no problem with my Camry. There's a creek and mini waterfall at the back. Nice little place.
