Black Butte Ranch

One of the Best vacation spots in Central Oregon. Love the golf courses, pools, the trails, and especially the views while doing those things...

Your experience in terms of sleeping accommodations and house amenities will vary depending on which house, condo, or cabin you stay. We rented a house that slept 3 couples and 3 kids very conveniently located near the Glaze Meadow pool. Glaze Meadow has an indoor pool with a slide and lap pool as well as an outdoor pool area with a hot tub, splash pad, and toddler pool in addition to the regular pool. There are lots of grassy seating areas around the outdoor pool with BBR privided chairs and loungers. They have a snack shack where they serve soft serve ice cream, beer, wine, Italian sodas, coffee, affagatos, hot dogs, and other snack foods. Stayed from 6/27/25 to 6/29/25. Facilities around the ranch are in good condition, specially the lake side pool. Awesome. Big meadow golf course was beautiful. The restaurants around the property close very early, 8 pm which seems odd specially for summer. The website and app are awful and clunky, we actually had an easier time using the old school map to find things around the ranch. The lodge room we stayed at was disgusting and the absolute bare to be called a room. The cable also didn't work. The tv was the size of Michael Scott's in the office. Filthy carpets, filthy bedding, unpatched holes in walls. Will never stay here again, specially for $700.

Although the public areas in the resort are newer and lovely, and the views are spectacular, Lodge room, 40 (and probably all the lodge rooms) has stained and dirty carpets that are wrinkled and almost a trip hazard, and the bathroom looks like it hasn’t been updated in about 30 years or more. There’s even mold in the shower. Although the photo is real, it gives an entirely different impression. They must’ve used very strong lights to take the photo because the room feels much more dark and dingy. It is sad because I’ve been coming here for decades and it has just run downhill.

Condos are a bit old. The one we rented had very old beds. Unit 54. Livingroom furnishings weren't too comfy. However, the property is excellent! Great place for long walks, enjoying nature. Lovely lake views from most units. Pools are excellent.
