Lone Mountain Ranch

Everything was top notch from start to finish. Our cabin was clean, cozy and it actually felt like home. Food was unbelievable: both quality and taste. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We were there with 2 young kids and not a single time I felt that my kids were unwelcome. Waiters at the restaurant deserve a special mention for their attentiveness, friendliness and professionalism. Great place for a family vacation. Will be back next year. Thank you!

We had a great experience overall at Lone Mountain Ranch. The views were immaculate, the cabin was wonderful. The staff was so friendly, kind, and helpful. The only downside that I wasn't aware of before our arrival, was that our cabin was up above most of the other cabins, and they do not allow you to drive your own vehicle on property, you have to leave it in a parking lot. For us, we couldn't walk to the parking lot and/or restaurant every time we left due to weather, and small children in our party. Even so, it would've been a long walk to make multiple times per day some days. So we had to wait for the staff to come pick us up, sometimes having to make 2 trips to accommodate our family size. We did not stay in the rooms here but we did enjoy a fabulous sleigh ride with Tom and Duke. The landscape and weather made the ride magical with snow flurries yet temperatures in the 30s and snow covered tree! The ride was like a fairytale dream! When we arrived, there was a cozy cabin with a warm fire to gather around while waiting for our shuttle. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lodge that we gathered at had an outdoor campfire and cozy lounge to sit and relax to enjoy cocktails and conversation prior to our departure on the sleigh ride. Introductions, safety instructions and greetings we delivered with warmth by staff. The ride was a nostalgic western experience to remember! The setting is beautiful. The accommodations are first class. The only imperfections are three: First, there is only one place to eat if you do not have a car and cannot drive into town. The food there is very good and the services is excellent, but after a few days I found myself wanting a bit more variety. Second, most of the staff are very young people who are only going to be there a few months. They are nice, bright, enthusiastic, and sincere but they really do not know much about the ranch, the setting, or the hospitality business. Have now accessed their many trails for XC/Nordic skiing over 6 yrs. Love the variety…the scenery in Gallatin Forest is stunning. Best local tea in the Lodge! Everyone is so friendly & the cabins are so cute.
