Lodges At Salmon River

My daughter and I stayed at Lodges at Salmon River during her high school ski season. Really well maintained and hard working staff help to keep it running smoothly and to provide hearty breakfasts. They also host various ski camps. So it is certainly a much appreciated resource for families to stay while helping out the teams and while staying involved with their children’s sports. It can get huge snow dumpings up there so four-wheel drive and or snow tires are never a bad idea.

We had a terrible experience here. The very first interaction we had was with what I presume is security. Right off the bat we were met with hostility and presented with a veiled threat by this older man, and it ended up souring our entire time here. As much as we tried to enjoy ourselves, his presence made us feel uncomfortable and it probably would have been entirely different if he had approached us with more patience and understanding before flipping us attitude and threatening us. It’s a shame because the location is gorgeous, and the rest of the people we interacted with were more pleasant, but we will never come back and have urged family and friends to go elsewhere because of how terrible we were treated at the beginning.

Beautiful location and many places to explore. There is even a fun hill to go sledding just a few steps away. I highly recommend staying here for your next retreat or group activity. The only downside is, the food is not good. Also, try not to get on the owners bad side 😬
