Lis Sur Mer Artists Cottages

What a great and unique experience! While it represents a Dune Shack in size and decor, it has all the needed amenities, especially the great outdoor shower. Remote, quiet, on the beach, romantic with everything you will need for the week. Leo, the caretaker was great in making sure everything was ready before we arrived and that was it for the week. Unless you wandered out, there wasn't a soul in sight. A true bucket list item!

I found this wonderful place about 3 years ago. I have been coming to the Cape all my life. We decided to start a new tradition and come for Christmas. We stayed at The Stable the first time. It was so quiet and cozy. We fell in love! Then we decided to try the Beach Cottage. Now we come in May/June as well as Christmas! It is so perfect and we really get to relax and reconnect. When you come in, it is magical! It is a beautiful, roomy cottage with a breathtaking view of the bay and Provincetown. Antiques, high ceilings and both old and new comfortable pieces that just make you feel at home! It is well kept, Penny and Edward do a fabulous job! Annette is here anytime you need her. So is Edward. Peter is a good, kind man. (the owner) I can not say enough about Lis Sur Mer.

The Artist's Shack at Lis Sur Mer was the perfect place to celebrate our honeymoon. It was cozy and rustic but had all the amenities you need, including excellent wifi and a fully functioning kitchen. The outdoor shower was private and overlooked the bay through the brush. It was wonderful being surrounded by nature with visits from a variety of birds including cardinals and hummingbirds, chipmunks, squirrels, and while at the bay--seals! There was a house being built next door (through the woods a bit) so there was a little construction noise but nothing too bad and it looks like they were almost finished. I definitely recommend visiting the Artist's Shack for a lovely retreat. I hope to be back.

Though I have traveled to the Cape many times with my wife on weekends, and we usually stay in Truro, Provincetown, or Wellfleet, our search for a special, beautiful, private place we could take our 10 year old twin boys was more difficult. We didn't want to throw down $3,000-$4,000 a week, which is what Lis Sur Mer's Beach Cottage goes for in the summer. However, we realized that April school vacation was much more affordable, and we took the plunge. We are so glad. We arrived to find an amazing, romantic, comfortable cottage right on a private bay beach. I have been going to the Cape since I was a little girl. First with my family. Six of us in a tiny motel room a block away from Coast Guard Beach. It was a tight fit but we loved every second! My mother would schlep the twin stroller and lunch, my father his fishing gear. I remember eating sandy peaches but being at that beach all day was heaven! When I was older, my sister and our friends would rent a cottage. Many times we had little money for anything but we'd go to the beach all day, sit in P-Town and meet great people then have little beach parties. The 70's were the best! The Peace Corp, "hippies" and so much wonderful diversity. Then I got married. We came to the Cape for our honeymoon. He loved it as much as I did (or we'd be divorced by now!)
