Lickdale Campground

I have only ever visited for the food but I have to admit (oddly enough) - some of the best wings in the area! Tons of flavors, perfectly cooked. Staff is short though so don’t expect lightening fast service. I’ll absolutely continue to give them my business.

Our group of 7 campers spent the Halloween weekend and had a fabulous time. The staff could not have been more friendly. The reservation process was also very simple. We had nice large, level sites grouped together as requested.There were great activities for the kids around the Halloween theme. Included pumpkin carving, costume contest, trick or treating, etc.The kids also enjoyed the nearby playground!

First let me start off by telling you that I haven't actually camped here yet. This is strictly just my review of the KOA lickdale camp store ice cream shop. I often stop while driving up through because my kids love the dirt sundaes that they sell. But this place really does have a lot of great things to choose from. Seriously. They even have a sundae for dogs! (Consisting of vanilla ice cream, peanut butter, and a doggy bisquit) They have hard dipped ice cream I believe all of them are the Turkey Hill brand ice creams. And they also have chocolate, vanilla, and twist soft serve. All the normal toppings you can think of, and they even have the saw dust topping. So if your ever going through and need a quick sweet treat, you should stop and check them out. Every person I ever spoke to beh

First of all, the name change of the campground is pretty confusing if you don't do your research and pay attention.. The two campgrounds in Jonestown are named alike, one IS a KOA the other used to be a KOA. We reserved our site through the KOA website. The campground is very close to I81 and is a convenient overnight stop for folks passing through. ||Now, the important stuff; The campground is very nice, not too crowded, but close enough. The roads are gravel, but the staff makes every attempt to keep them level. Our site was creek-front...literally! A concrete pad is on the banks of the Swatara Creek and concrete steps lead down to the water..about 6 feet! Nice! The power was good, as was the water pressure. We talked to the owner at the York Camper Show earlier in the spring so while we were camped yesterday 7/15 at another campground nearby we thought we would check this one out. I entered the store from the front and found the reservation desk. There were 3 girls working and they all ignored my husband & I. Finally one reluctantly came over and asked what we wanted. I ask her if we could tour the campground and also if there were any sites open for a specific date in August. She was so rude and arrogant we almost walked out immediately. But she finally said yes there were sites open on the weekend that we wanted. Great I replied, can you mark those sites on the map and we can check them out as we tour the place.
