Lexington Plaza Hotel

good place to stay for a few days! you get exactly what you pay for; affordable, great location, and fairly clean. there was no shower curtain, no lock on the bathroom door, and the pillows were uncomfortable, but if you asked for something (e.g. more toilet paper or another bath mat) they would provide it quickly to us. we looked at the other reviews ahead of time so were worried about no hot water but it was not an issue at all. they will charge you $5/bag to hold luggage if you arrive early though so be aware of this.

This hotel did not deliver what was advertised, and several issues were significant enough to impact our stay. The property was marketed as a luxury hotel, but the condition upon arrival was clearly inconsistent with the photos and description online. There was visible disrepair throughout the building, including taped elevator buttons and patched holes in the walls. Most concerning, the heat did not work in our room during a week when NYC temperatures were in the low teens and single digits. The hotel was clearly aware of this issue, as two space heaters were already placed in the room rather than relocating us to a room with functioning heat. Just wanted to share a review of this hotel, as I have read some seemingly unfair reviews that indicate things that are quite frankly either harsh or untrue (unless the hotel has had significant improvements recently).||Location is fantastic. 5 min walk from Grand Central and on the purple subway line which links Penn Station area/Time square. Very accessible.||The hotel room was very spacious and perfect for my needs. Bed was a large and very comfortable. The room was immaculately clean and tidy. Included an iron, a safe and bathroom stuff (shampoo, conditioner, body lotions, shower gel, make-up wipes etc.) Shower was great and had consistent hot water. I was on a lower floor (floor 2), but from other reviews, I can see that the higher floors offer good views, sometimes with Empire State.

Positive: The basics were provided for us in this hotel. The bathrooms have been renovated and a really nice. Our bed was very comfortable. We would stay here again if we could visit in New on York City in the future. Negative: It’s an older hotel and we are used to much more modern facilities. They certainly should offer coffee in the lobby at least. Bottled water would be nice to have available best. We brought our own coffee knowing there wasn’t anything available.

I was honestly worried once reading the hotels reviews. However we experienced a great time. Check in was smooth and they even let us check in early. The location was absolutely perfect. Very conveniently located. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Was also worried about the hot water after reading reviews however the water was scorching hot and not an issue at all. If I had to complain it would be about only having three tv channels to watch but honestly we didn’t even make time to watch tv unless it was before falling asleep. Overall an amazing experience - and awesome price. Don’t let the bad reviews deter you from booking!
