Le Méridien New York, Fifth Avenue

This hotel is fantastic but it's not the building or amenities that makes it great... it's the people. Barry (at the front door) is the true face of this hotel. He is exceptional. He greeted guest by name and made sure we knew the best way to get from point a to b. He always had a smile and a kind word. He even noticed we didn't have an umbrella and advised that it was scheduled to rain and sent us on our way with a couple of umbrellas just in case... we needed them withing minutes of walking out. The location is great- walkable to many places like Herald Square, Rockefeller Center and Times Square. I would recommend and return based on interactions with Barry. He is a true gem and made us feel like we were at the Ritz Carlton. It wasn't isolated but we watched him provide this leve

Le Meridien Manhattan is a nice and clean hotel in a great location. The staff was friendly and welcoming for the most part, which made check in and the overall stay pleasant. The bar and restaurant attached to the hotel are decent and convenient, especially after a long day in the city. The room itself was fine but had a few issues. The faucet was very wobbly and the conditioner container in the shower was broken. The bed was comfortable and I slept well, although the pillows were very flat but still manageable. As expected for most Manhattan hotels, the room was small and there was no real desk space to comfortably do any work. Overall, a solid stay with good service and cleanliness, but a few room details could use improvement.

A huge shout-out to Joey at check-in who made us feel instantly taken care of and set the tone for an amazing stay. First, I must say how amazing the staff is at this hotel, all driven by Anthony, the hotel manager. Exceptional service and care. I stayed for 10 days, and although the room might be a little small (hey, its NYC what do you expect??) the walk in show, large tub and bathroom was outstanding. The bed was super comfy, with a view of 5th avenue. Food was 5 stars, yes, I was surprised as well. Breakfast & the Italian restaurant for dinner was superb... order the veal parmigiana. One complaint, the restaurant/lobby bar closes at 11pm, and yes they ask you to leave even if you aren't finished with your drink. That needs to be addressed.
