Lakeport Motel & Restaurant

The staff was very friendly & helpful. I liked the large rooms with a full kitchen with dishes, living room, bedroom, & screened in patio. The furniture is kind of old & outdated, but it is pet friendly. There is a small dock & fish cleaning house.

Driving three hours to this location. Just to find a sign the says if no body is in lobby to to the mini mart up the street. So I went to the mini mart and met the manager. She started off with kind of an attitude. For no reason. I did not deserve it. As soon as I paid for a room her whole attitude changed, went up to the room and it was an absolute disaster underneath the couch were hundreds of bugs beetles spiders, all the linens had stains. Literally Nightmare hotel. Very Bates motel vibes. I told my company about this room and they told me to leave immediately. So I packed my things and went into town to find some more cleaner.

Can't say much about the hotel itself. This hotel left me high and dry. I booked a room by phone and told the desk that I would be there about 4 o'clock, when I got there,the office was locked, and there was a sign on the door saying go to the gas station up front. I went to the gas station, and the lady told me that the office was going to be closed while the manager goes to the bank and may or may not be back in 3 or 4 hours. I waited around for a couple of hours. Nobody showed up. I canceled the reservation, I hope. Could not reach a person, so I left a message on their answering machine and left.

The newly renovated room was very nice. My wife and I slept very well on the bed and made a nice breakfast in the small kitchen inside the room. We didn't try the restaurant attached to the hotel. Staff were very pleasant and responsive. Would definitely stay again in the future.
