Lake of the Woods Resort

We stayed in the cabins. They are rustic, but nice. As other reviews note, they are not 5-star hotel quality, but they had everything we needed (refrigerators, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, etc). Some cabins have ranges and multiple bedrooms, too. Our cabin and bed were comfortable, and the room was clean. The heaters worked great!|We brought our boat, so we rented a slip for that as well. We opted to eat at the resort restaurant. The food was reasonably priced and tasty - and the portions were very generous. |Finally, all of the staff that we had interactions with were professional, hard working, and friendly. Fishing was fun, too. We caught many trout, bass, and perch. Overall, we had a wonderful time with our friends!

We had a great 2 night stay in a cozy cabin. The cabin was spotless abd had everything we could possibly need. The general store was great and the pizza was good. We walked twice a day and enjoyed sitting by the lake. So beautiful. The staff also gets 5 stars! We plan on returning next year

I think that if they had a more professional staff then I would've given them 5 stars. My family and a friend drove up for the day and had reserved a pontoon. After the long drive up there and after paying a $10 parking fee, we were definitely ready to use the restroom. The ladies room had mud all over the floor and both of the stalls were out of paper. . . . I mean zero tp, toilet seat covers, paper towels.. . . nada! I had to go in the men's bathroom to get some tp before I could finally go. We went to the office to get the pontoon and I told 3 separate employees about the bathroom issue and was assured it would be taken care of. ||The pontoon was really fun, the lake is beautiful and peaceful, and we had a lovely time. After 4 hours on the pontoon, we were all ready for another restroom

We had dinner at the Lake of the Woods Resort, we both had their dinner Burgers. My wife’s was over cook and my was decently cooked, she got the onion ring where she said where good and I got the sweet potato fries which I am not a sweet potato person but those where delicious. We had to sit up in the bar to have a lakeside view for dinner since the restaurant lakeside table are booked for reservations. All in all was a good experience, still couldn’t believe how much they charge for a cabin for a night we were told $400-500 a night by staff. For that price better come with a king bed and fireplace.

The general cleanliness of the cabins leaves a lot to be desired. There are cobwebs filled with dead bugs hanging from light fixtures, and in basically every corner of the cabin. Guests are expected to wash the dishes however, the dishes were dirty when we checked in. The bathroom sink was not draining, and the mattress on the bed was old and worn. The curtains are old and full of dust. The linens are worn, and pillows are flat as a pancake. Sadly, it is like this every time we stay. It is the beauty of the lake and surrounding forest, that keeps us coming back despite the inflated prices, poor quality of the cabins and general cleanliness as well as antiquated policies and insufficient staffing.
