Lake Erie Lodge

Review by a couple who look for the cheaper options. My husband and I stayed there the second weekend in October. Check in was very easy (although restorative work was being done in the lobby) Our room was bigger than most we’ve stayed in the area. If your like us, navigating cable TVs can be hard, usually a few channels to watch during your stay.They have on demand and it all worked!! Bonus points. The room smelled fresh and was clean. Bathroom was clean as well but the hot water never really got hot. With a wall mounted hair dryer and big mirror with surround lighting it was great. The heater/air conditioner had a “constant fan” option for all of us that can’t sleep without white noise. We will rebook our stay in the future.

My son and I come to Waldameer often and stay at the Lake Erie Lodge because we live over an hour and a half away. We've always been satisfied and it's been a pleasant experience. I like the fact that it's close to Waldameer. It's always been clean. I've read some bad reviews, but we haven't had that type of an experience. They have a pool but we've never used it because we stay overnight and go to Waldameer. | This last time we stayed at the hotel Frances was very helpful. I see some of the reviews said that they didn't get their deposit back. You do have to give a $100 deposit when you check in, but I've always received mine back. Positive: It was close to Waldameer and the beach, where we were at during our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable and wanted to complement the lady who does the cleaning. Negative: ""

Office was not clean. Want to our room to find hair and dirt all over the floor. Looked is like throw up on the wall. You could see daylight round the door and the bathroom was not clean. We could not get are money back. But we chose to leave.

I didnt read the reviews until after I arrived. My room was clean, though the bath towels arrived closer to 9pm. The AC was in a weird location, as I found it hard to cool the space. But all in all, the room was good. The location was great. Close to Waldameer, the beaches, and eating establishments. Plus there was a small pool. I was ready to leave a good review until I found out it was going to take up to 2-3 days to get my $102 deposit back into my account. Most hotels just hold a small amount for incidentals. I don't know if I'll return, but if my money gets back into my account tomorrow, I might edit this review.
