Lafayette Garden Inn & Conference Center

Absolute garbage. The room absolutely reaks there is urine stains by the toilet and the paint is pealing on the ceiling throughout. Service was almost as bad. Would rather sleep in my car.

I wish there was a negative stars for this hotel. We used to stay here and it was very nice then. But in the past 5 years it has become horrible. The room was filthy! I had little maid service except to exchange my towels. Trash never emptied. Radio and microwave didn't work and took 2 days to get that dealt with. So much filth behind the refrig, etc that I asked for it to be cleaned. The maid used an old broom and not even a vacuum, etc, etc. It was dirty inside the room and outside as well. So sad to see.

Wish that I could rate this place a negative 5 stars. Service was absolutely terrible. Arrived at 1 am, and was told that check in is only at 3 pm. Had to pay twice the rate to get a room. Had a couple sleeping in the lobby on the couches. The room given was already occupied. The second room wasn't much better. It looks as if it may have been a very nice hotel several years ago, but it is very dated and dirty. Wouldn't suggest walking on the carpet barefoot, we didn't. Could go on and on, but to make it short, this felt like being in a bad episode of the twilight zone.

I would not stay here again. The pictures on the website have to be old as this place is so dated and just feels nasty to me. The rooms actually are accommodating and will meet your basic needs. Our double bed room contained a microwave and mini fridge. It looks clean upon entering, but did have a musty smell. The carpet did not look clean and I noticed trash in in the crevice against the wall. The pool is a nice size, but had grime all around the top and the outside cement look bad with mildew or something black and the entire mulch and bushes all around the pool were filled with cigarette butts. The worst was the condom and used tampon in the parking lot that I discovered upon returning to my vehicle. Just cleaning up would make a big difference as it does have potential to be somewhere

Motel 6 seems to have just taken over this location. Temporary signs. Temporary office. Lots of rooms being renovated. Problem is, the room I was in hasn't been renovated yet and really wasn't up to par. Two out of three vanity lightbulbs missing. No hair dryer on the holder. Heavy layer of mildew at the corners of the tub and floor. Blanket missing from bed although the throw was there. No alarm clock. Strong chemical smell from AC unit, and unit didn't cool the room. The price was okay and the front office folks were friendly but If I had known the current condition of the motel I would have stayed somewhere else.
