La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lubbock Southwest

The location, atmosphere, room, and value were all good. Cleanliness was exceptional. The service was nice and helpful and it was quiet. However, the beds are not as comfortable as I would prefer and on our king size bed we had two single pillows and two half square pillows. It would have been nice to have kind size pillows. When I asked for more pillows they brought us two of the small square pillows. I suggest you bring your own pillow if you like sleeping with comfortable pillows. The water flow in the bathroom sink and shower are very slow. Overall, great stay!

The lobby was clean and smelt great. Check in was smooth. The room was clean enough. The shower water was room temperature at hottest. The shower water backed up to ankle deep. The sink drained slow, as well. House keeping did not come after our first night, leaving the beds unmade, no towels or tissue. Maintenance did come and unclogged the drain, however, they left the wad of hair that was pulled from the drain in the toilet with a mess on the toilet and did not flush. Due to the lack of housekeeping, we had to change rooms when we returned to our room at 10 o clock at night, but not before waiting for the front desk clerk for several minutes as the front desk was empty. We enjoyed our two night stay. Atmosphere, service, and rooms were all great. Very clean! Pillows were small and would have much rather had king size pillows on a king size bed instead of small square pillows. Overall, we were comfortable while traveling. Would recommend and return again (but bring my own pillows!).

Positive: "" Negative: The hot tub and pool were both dirty and gross. I chose this hotel for the pool, and even called ahead to verify the pool was open (it’s an outdoor pool) and was told it was. However, it was green and dirty.

I discovered there are black out curtains behind the printed and sheer curtains to make the room pitch black. I missed the white heavy curtains at first. Very clean hotel! I was actually impressed with how spacious the room was. Much larger rooms than the La Quinta in Lubbock off I-27. The bathroom was nice and clean. There were a few negatives. The smoke detector light kept flashing every 2 seconds all night long. Only one elevator was working and it took a very long time to wait for an elevator. It stopped on every single floor out of 4 floors around 10am. We were all crammed inside one elevator with our luggage. The Direct TV was glitching all the time. Watching TV was a big negative with the poor signal and barely any channels to choose from. There was a ceiling fan and no loud ac wall
