La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Harrisburg-Hershey

Positive: Great location, clean room, nice pool and free breakfast, Negative: The hotel is smoke-free, but the room had a strong smoking smell. The clerk initially offered just to spray it to reduce the odor, but later was able to move us to another room without any smell. Also, hot water was lukewarm on the third floor.

Unfortunately this review is quite late, but I stayed here back in January 2025, and have to say this hotel came in clutch during a snowstorm where the roads were covered in ice, and I was too tired to take the over 3 hr drive back home. I was able to check in and get a room at around 2:00 to 3:00 a.m. and the price was very low for the amenities this place offers. (Even lower if you use services like Booking) I checked in via phone call at the time. I stayed in a two queen bed room and it was in decent shape, although could use a little TLC. There weren't any odors if I recall correctly. The beds were decent enough but were a little firm for my liking. The walls and ceiling didn't have the best sound isolation as I got woken up by people opening and closing their doors in the morning. Mi

This hotel has obviously not been kept in good repair. Carpets were dirty and badly stained. One of the three lights in our bathroom was not functioning, and it required more than just a standard bulb. Since it was over the sink / counter, it made that area very dim, and shaving was a challenge. Another light in the bedroom area was out. The sink drain was slow. Our main problem with the rooms (our family had two rooms) was that there were no towel bars or racks, absolutely no place to hang up any towels or washcloths in the bathroom. There were only two hangers in the closet for hanging clothes. Most of the easily available electric outlets in the room seemed to be non-functional, could not charge cell phones. Our daughter's family's room had no wired phone, so no way to contact

Service was good and did not have a negative experience. Looks like place was recently remodeled but rooms lack the finishing touches. No trim around fire suppressant system and walls had a few places of repairs but no paint over it. Nothing to inconvenience your stay, more of wondering what's happened to get to that point. Beds were not hard and we're comfortable compared to alot of beds. Breakfast was the typical hot breakfast off of the lobby. Eggs, sausage links, muffins and waffles. Pool and hot tub were a welcoming piece.

Our stay was October of 2025. I honestly do not know where to start. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this hotel had been neglected for far too long. Great staff and a nice atmosphere. However, once you leave the lobby, it's a whole different story. The hallway floor sagged as we walked from the elevator to the room. Once in the room, there was visible mold, peeling wallpaper some of the wallpaper was held up with staples, and a strong smell of dampness throughout. The carpet felt so dirty we had to wear shoes in the room. The hot tub was broken, and the pool had a damaged entry handle into the shallow end that felt unsafe to use. So unsafe it actually broke and then they cleared out the pool while we were there. So half the reason we stayed at this hotel was no longer accessible
