La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Elk City

Surprisingly nice, clean and well appointed. Located very close to interstate 40, and a nice Italian restaurant across the road, and a Pilot station as well. My room had 2 queen beds, and a variety of pillows. The mattress is very comfortable; the right mix of firmness and softness. And great sheets! The bathroom is a nice size, about 6-7' of counter space. A big TV, bedside lights (including a tiny reading light), and a HVAC system that works without too much noise. I will stay here again!

The room was pretty big and reasonably clean. However...||||- The front desk was all business. Not a nice word to say, but plenty of paperwork. Yup, they're asking for signatures, initials, handwritten vehicle details, as if it were the 70's.||- I noticed a smell when I got into the room, but was tired and had a lot left to do that day, so I cracked a window hoping to air things out, and went out to get that stuff done. I _should_ have asked for another room immediately because...||- When I got back things had aired out a bit and I was really beat, so I closed the window and went to bed. The first thing I woke up to was that smell. So on the way out I said something at the front desk, and got the weirdest response. "What sorta smell?", she said. "I dunno, maybe a cigar?", I said.

Positive: It had vacancy at the last minute. Negative: The breakfast was not sufficient - i have stayed in Hyatts costing LESS per night with far better breakfast services. The room was hot, and the AC did not properly cool the room. The room was dingy, and damp.

Stopped here for a night then a week later for 2 nights. Great place to sleep and veg with a lot of channels on a big tv. Pool and hot tub were closed for the season but hot tubs are year round so that was lame. Breakfast was typical but what mainly brought us here was pet friendly. They don't discriminate either, cause some hotels If you get a pet friendly room, they're half ass cleaned. This place was awesome for that. So being on a 6k mile road trip it was a good comfy spot to chill, do laundry and you can walk across to subway. We will be back if in the area. 🤙

Would have given them 10 stars if I could! I have stayed in many hotels lately on business trips and this was by far the nicest room and employees I have come across. This trip was a family trip with our 18 year old son and dog. We got a suite and he had his own space. The room was a great value, very clean, and breakfast was good. We had car trouble on our way and came in very late, around 1 am. The front desk called us while we were on our way to confirm our stay, and were thoughtful when we said how late we would be arriving. They even called a second time to ask if we were OK and still coming. They held a first floor room for us near the doors so we wouldn't have to make noise and disturb others.
