La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Olympia - Lacey

It was pretty nice for a lower level motel. Pool and hot tub were kinda cold in my opinion and the pool is pretty small but they have a decent little breakfast and the rooms are nice. They also have a washer and dryer on each floor that takes quarters you can use if you want to do your laundry. However I think we spent probably $100 in quarters on the dryer because it just barely dried your clothes but yeah it's a pretty decent middle rated hotel. And they allow you to have pets the first one is free if it's under I think 20 lbs and it's only a $25 deposit if you have another pet. So I would definitely go there again.

The front desk attendant, 'Bre' , has a welcoming personality. She was very friendly & we had a nice chat as we checked in.|The room was nice with a large comfortable king bed. Our carpet was damp & when I questioned the front desk, I was told the carpet had been shampooed. I did not understand why they put us in a room with wet carpet when it was a fairly large hotel & didn't seem very full.|Breakfast had lots of good choices; eggs, potatoes, sausages, oatmeal, waffles, bagels, muffins & fresh fruit. |Except for the damp carpet which felt funny to walk on, we liked this hotel.

This inn needs some serious TLC. At first glance it seemed fine, but the parking lot had trash scattered around, and the entrance floor was covered in debris from foot traffic, regular cleaning would make a big difference. The breakfast service was good and about what I expected, and the staff were pleasant enough. Unfortunately, the room itself was a disappointment. It had a persistent stench, the sink was cracked, the microwave was stuck in demo mode, and there were smashed pretzels inside the AC unit. The refrigerator hummed loudly throughout the night. The floors looked so dirty that we bought hotel slippers just to avoid touching the floor, and we had to crack the window for fresh air because the odor was so strong. Whenever the AC or heat would power on, there was even a faint smel

La Quinta hotels used to be our go-to but I feel as though the quality is really slipping in recent years. This was a little cheaper than some others we were considering just up the freeway and we wish we had gone there. It wasn't a terrible stay but we're a little older now and can appreciate spending a little more for better quality. Our first room had a TV that we couldn't control the volume with the remote and there were no buttons on the TV. It also wouldn't turn off unless you unplugged it and the room was the last at the end of the hall closest to the freeway. It was loud all night. So the next morning we switched rooms and the new room had a tiny TV but it also looked like the owners pieced the room together with spare parts left over from other renovations.
