La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Bakersfield South

Dirty. Small dingy rooms. Good for the price I guess? If you don't mind dirty floors and pillows that are stained and smell like sweat. The breakfast was fine. Crowded. Maintenance staff was great. I had heater issues the guys were awesomeand fixed it fast. Overworked front desk. But I run into that at a lot of La Quintas... this is there south location in Bakersfield. I would highly recommend going to the north location. Completely different hotel where EVERYTHING is impeccably better. The first room they gave me was so bad and smelled like smoke that they said they would move me to another room and I can't believe this was the "better" room. Room was fine until you have to deal witht he owner or the lady who works at the front desk. Checked in last night after calling in and CONFIRMING the deposit and the dog fee (100 for deposit and 25 for dog fee), I have a dalmatian I want to make sure where I stay is a good fit for her, went to check out this morning drop off room keys and get my deposit back and all of a sudden they want to hand my husband a new contract to sign saying that the dog fee is 50+6 fee, no where last night were we told this. Once I said that to the front desk lady she said "I dont know who is lying" thats your comment? Why would we lie? We are diamond memeber who always stay at a la quinta and never have any issues before. Yes its 31 more dollars to some thats nothing but why were we not told that last night?

Positive: Its clean affordable and close to where I need to be Negative: Before arriving I completed to online checkin, uploaded my ID entered my credit card and auto information, when I arrived I was asked for the same information and needed to complete the same by hand. They didn't seem to be aware

​I am writing to express our extreme dissatisfaction with the recent stay our employees had at your hotel. According to their feedback, the ​accommodations were unacceptable. The rooms were not cleaned, and the presence of mice and cockroaches made for a highly unsanitary environment. Given these conditions, we will not be returning to your establishment in the future.

Front desk staff was extremely respectful and professional. They were able to take care of my room while multi tasking in an efficient manner. Stay was great and room given was beautifully set up and cleaned. Nice pool area and great amenities. Will stay here again.
