L and J Ranch TX

We stayed at L & J Ranch over the Fourth of July with our family and absolutely loved it. The cabins were clean, spacious, and so cozy — perfect for a relaxing family getaway. The property is peaceful and scenic, and we really enjoyed grilling out and relaxing on the porch. It felt like a true Texas ranch experience. We’ll definitely be back!

My family and I visited last October and we had so much fun. From the excitement of disc golf to the serenity of the pond, I know I have to come back with a bigger group next time. The hosts were so inviting and friendly. 10/10 would recommend

L & J Ranch in Gatesville, Texas is an absolute gem! The ranch is beautiful, spacious, and perfect for families and large groups. There’s a lovely pond for fishing and plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. We especially enjoyed the onsite disc golf course and volleyball—it really adds to the fun and makes the stay memorable for all ages. The cabins and kitchens were exceptionally clean and very spacious, which made our stay comfortable and relaxing. The owners were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. This is the ideal place to unwind, connect, and enjoy the outdoors together. We loved our experience and already have plans to return in the fall. Highly recommend!

The ranch features a large pond stocked with impressive catfish, accessible by a spacious wooden pier that is safe for children. L and J Ranch TX also boasts a John Houck–designed disc golf course, surrounded by a scenic nature walking trail. For added fun, there are numerous oversized yard games and a playground to keep younger guests entertained. The property blends a charming retro exterior with a clean, modern feel, creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere. The amenities are outstanding—plenty of open space for group gatherings, fishing opportunities, outdoor games, and well-maintained grounds that encourage relaxation and fun. One of the highlights for me was the disc golf course on the property, which added an extra layer of entertainment to an already great stay.
