Faunt Le Roy Park

We camped at this park for one night while traveling through the state. The park is not super big, but it was quiet. You park along the grass. Each site has a picnic table. $20 a night, full hook-ups; 30 and 50 amp. It was raining when we were there, so we didn't walk down to the water, but there are walking trails that take you around the park and down to the water. We travel in a motorhome with a tow vehicle. We also have dogs and dog fencing and although the sites aren't super big, we had plenty of room.

This park sits at the edge of the city inside a bend of the Leon River with views through trees to pastureland, though it is only a few blocks from a residential area. A disc golf course continues from Raby Park through the grounds. There are a few camping/RV hookups, restroom facilities, and several covered picnic areas suitable for large groups. A variety of playground equipment is spread around. The grounds are well kept, and there is a volleyball court with a net. There was hardly anyone there when we went.

This park is right next to a beautiful creek and a nature filled hiking path. That park itself is just the right size to keep watch of your kids and have a decent sized part. It includes plenty y of table space 2 canopies with a whole bunch of tables. It had a range of fun things for kids like swings, slide, 2 tire swings, monkey bars, a merry go round and a balance beam. It's a load of fun for the little ones and if you want you can enjoy It too. The park also connects to Raby Park which is another great place to have a blast at.

Such a wide open space to go play and relax. Has a great place to walk and jog. The kids love the tire swings and big slide! And us parents live the many tables and the covered ones are good for party’s!

I was visiting Gatesville and wanted a scenic place to go for a jog. This place was perfect. When you add drive path to the running path, its exactly 1 mile. It's surrounded by water, trees and lots of birds so it was an incredibly peaceful run. The park has a few swing sets for small children. There are also spaces for camping (tent or RV) with electric, a picnic table and a lookout over the water. The internet lists the open hours of 7am but since it has camping spots, the gates aren't closed or locked so I was able to enter and run before 7am. There is plenty of parking near the running path and in the park. This would be a great place to hold a birthday party or family reunion. As a bonus, there are hardstanding building with restrooms on site.
