KL Ranch Camp ~ On The River

We had a great time at the KL "on the River." We camped in sites 68 and 69, which was a perfect combination of tent camping (68) and a SMALL travel trailer (69). The camp store was very conveniently located. The showers are a bit far from these sites, but plumbed restrooms are a short walk. These sites are more private than the sites near the showers. Be sure to bring trash bags. There are no individual trash cans on the sites. All trash is carried to the dumpster. We had a phone signal, so we were able to use our hotspot to watch the Astros game. They 100% mean "lights out" at 11PM, but we stayed up and visited well beyond this time. Just without loud music or bright lights. This would be a great location for snorkeling! Every time we drove by this campground we told ourselves we needed to stay here. Have stayed at some other places on River Rd. and they were fine but K & L matched us & what we look for when camping. Had a huge site so neighbors were not right on top of us & we also liked how the river was right in front of us vs. down below a hill from our campsite-like we had at other campgrounds. Having a 3 year old grandson visit made this ideal as we felt safer without the hill & the water wasn't too deep for him. He liked being free & able to move about on his own in the water. We also liked just sitting on the river's edge enjoying our morning coffee or early evening adult beverages. So peaceful. I believe this is also the campground that frowns upon cussing or bad language, which we appreciated. Th

Amazing place to camp. The ladies in the office are so sweet and amazing. our second time here and during the 2025 flood, i have to say the ladies were very professional and caring in this time. Made sure everyone that ended up not able to leave, were accommodated. I will always will come back for the hospitality and peace.

Very nice place. Management takes their rules seriously and doing helps them deliver a great venue for everyone.

Its a great place. I had plenty of fun with my kids. Though a little crowded, its an extremely fun and relaxing swimming spot. You go use the small grill pit, go for a nice swim, or just relax and do you own thing.
