Kingfisher Lodge

Stayed here four nights for a 3-day fly fishing trip and it was wonderful. Emerson took ownership in 2025 and has plans to make the accommodations even better. Shalon was a perfect hostess and the chef and sous-chef prepared fantastic meals! Our guide, Ryan Pettit, was very knowledgeable and we caught some great fish each day. Plan to go back for seconds of everything!

Just wrapped up a 3 day, 4 night trip hosted at Kingfisher. What a memorable and wonderful experience. Shalon, the manager is a guide herself so very knowledgeable and helpful. The meals prepared by Jason far exceeded my expectations. Accommodations were comfortable. I had a different guide everyday, by choice, and learned so much from them.. Jim, Brandon, and Tyler put is on some big trout and were very willing to share tips and tricks. As a first time Montana visitor. I hope to come back regularly.

Great time at Kingfisher Lodge! Dave, our Guide, landed us in browns & bows so big they were bending the hooks. Floated thru a HUGE caddis hatch. Perfect fall weekend on the Bighorn River. Shalon, the Lodge Manager, made us all feel right at home. The Lodge offers lots of amenities and a cozy, friendly atmosphere. Meals by Chef Jason were fabulous: duck & homemade pappardelle pasta; lamb & gnocchi; corn chowder with andouille. Met some cool folks, and can't wait to return!

Brock, Jenny, and their staff are amazing at making your stay at the Kingfisher Lodge a truly memorable experience that will last a lifetime! The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Jenny's meals are to die for! Exquisite cuisine at its finest. The fishing guides are the best as well. They'll work with anyone no matter what level of experience you have. They'll put you in great fly fishing spots because they know the river so well. You won't regret staying at the Kingfisher!

The Kingfisher Lodge is superb! Brock and Jenny go out of their way to provide a warm, friendly atmosphere and awesome experience from start to finish. The updated accommodations are extremely comfortable. The meals are incredible thanks to Jenny's culinary expertise; the breakfast scones are exceptional! The Lodge provides the most experienced and friendly/affable guides on the river; their expertise, knowledge of the river, patience with fishermen at any skill level, and tips to improve your skills are unparalleled. The Kingfisher Lodge is the ultimate lodge and fishing experience in Fort Smith, Montana!
